“Huh? What the hell happened to the shop?”

“Ah, it’s the old man. You’re late today.”

“I told you to stop calling me old man, you damn brat! Why’s everything looking so different…and just what the hell are you wearing?”

“Like it? It’s a jester costume. I bought it yesterday and Ono-sensei thought it looked good. We’ve decided to go with a fairytales theme today. So Chikage-san and Ono-sensei and I worked all night to decorate the shop like this.”

“Like something out of a storybook? What’s with all the candy canes and gingerbread houses and crawling vines and…”

“Ono-sensei said we were going to take our inspiration from the Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Pretty cool, huh?”

“Hmm…it’s edible too.”

“See? You can bite off the tiny chairs and tables we baked, just like in Hansel and Gretel…”

Eiji-kun, do you have the shortbread…ah, Tachibana, you’ve finally arrived…”

“Why didn’t anyone inform me about this, Ono? This is my shop and even I don’t know what’s happening in it!”

“It’s no one’s fault but yours, old man. You said you weren’t interested…”

“When did I ever say that?”

“Remember last week, when Ono sensei said that he wanted to do something different for White Day and go with a fairytale theme and you said…”

“Do whatever you like. I don’t care.”

“…and then you walked out.”

“So why aren’t you in costume, Ono?”

“Ah, since I’m behind the scenes, I don’t really need to get dressed but for you, I’ve got something really special.”

“Eh…where are you taking me to?”

Shssh, just wear it. You’ll look great in it.”

Oy, Ono, I don’t want to wear…oh God, not that look again…fine, fine, I’ll wear the damn thing!” Man, he scares me with that cold look.

“Ah, master. You look good in your costume.”

“Eh? Not you too, Chikage. Why are we dressed alike? And man, these tights are itchy…”

“According to Ono-san, we’re supposed to be princes.”

“Princes my ass. I feel extremely un-prince like right now.”

“Ah, you two! You look so dashing. I don’t know whether to eat you both or to…”

“Just keep your eating to yourself, Ono. Don’t put me in the same category as you…and Chikage.”

“Ma…master…that’s cruel!”

“And don’t you start crying either. Ah, we’ve got guests already. Chikage?”

“Yes, master.”

“Stop your sniffling and be ready. We’ve got work to do. Welcome to Antique Bakery, ladies…”

“Look at him, Ono-sensei. One minute he acts like a crotchety old man and the next minute…”

“…he’s like a real prince.”

“…Ono-sensei?”

“Hmm?”

“You’re almost drooling.”

“…Oh! Ah, sorry, Eiji-kun. Let’s go get out the pastries for today before the crotchety old man demands it, hmm?”

“Yes sensei! Heh, looks like the ladies are already eating up the act. I’ve got to give it to the old man. He’s good.”

“Yes…he is…but come on. We’ve got work to do.” And no time to waste on fairytale wishes that will never come true.
